I began my commercial carrier as an illustrator and camera-tech in the print word. It is hard to imagine today that before computers, everything print related was done by hand. I was trained the old way, and had a short carrier in the print industry before discovering the ease of computer prepress. Among my many jobs in the print industry, one had been as a pressman's assistant on a web press for a small daily newspaper. Duties included, shooting and stripping negatives before burning and hanging the plates. I spent a lot of time doing color separations too.
Silkscreen was (and still is in many ways) the one of the last old printing technolgy holdouts. Between 1988 and 1995 I developed hundres of designs. These are just a few. Many of these examples could be filed under Illustration, but because I also performed the color separation, I file them here under Print.
